…when you find something bad, or that turns out bad, drop it, leave it alone.
—Sitting Bull
It is said a problem cannot be solved at the level it was created. The procurement of oil, gas, coal and nuclear energy involves highly problematic processes that result in a yield of dirty energy —dirty in a most vile way, because they are processes and products that despoil our land, water and air and bring sickness and death to environments needlessly and so contrary to the clean efficiency and perfect harmony of nature’s systems.
Instead of using our resources in a fight of resistance at the level of consciousness inherent within massive, polluting and hostile industries, let us instead, step away from that place and use our time and energy to move forward in an entirely different and positive direction to embrace models of energy production that work in harmony with life. Let us simply walk away from the wickedly inspired arguments of the despoilers of land and life and give our full attention and support to the those who, while working within the harmonious framework of nature, will design, implement and maintain clean technologies to provide our energy needs.
And that is what this blog is truly about —to promote and support a way of life in harmony with Mother Earth —to walk The Red Road, The Path of Life. Mitakuye oyasin. All my relatives. Every rock, feather, droplet of water, whisper of wind, flash of light, leaf, creature, the earth, moon and sun —all is connected and has its being through a process of events that culminate in their respective presence to form a unique part of the whole. Nothing exists is isolation, and because we are all intimately connected, WE ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
I reach out to touch you with my words. You can touch another. Your positive actions will influence others to do the same, and on it goes until we have movement that takes shape in the form of a powerful wave to surge up and overcome the wrong thinking and destructive actions of forces that would lay waste land and life, and replace that darkness with the light of technologies that provide clean, renewable, non-invasive methods of energy production. I look to the glory of the sun so freely sharing everyday its treasure of sunshine, and my hope is for full attention and support now to the development of solar energy technologies for a clean and bright future.
As a Voice in Black Elk’s great vision said: “Behold this day, for it is yours to make.”
Change comes from within —we find a better way as we learn to live wisely.
Mitakuye Oyasin!
